I took off the guard. I rode in a downpour and didn't get any unusual spray up my back from the belt. I actually had a rollbag tied perpendicular to the fender. It would have acted like a fender, but it didn't have any "spray" on it versus the opposite side. That tells me the belt doesn't throw water. Just wanted to clarify that. What I am noticing is a squeaky belt. The belt never sqeaked before I took off the guard. I've done no maintenance since the guard came off. WOndering what the deal is with that. Look up in the forum for my posting asking for feedback on that.
